He was predeceased by: his parents, William Janko and Ellen Kylmanen Janko; his son Chad; and his brother Chuck. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Rod; his son Michael; his grandchildren, Hunter and Camryn; his siblings, Bill Janko (Yvonne), Marlene Janko and Jeanette Petersen (Lyle); and his sister-in-law Michelle Janko. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Eastgate Steele Chapel (518 Mitchell Ave N, Steele, ND 58482). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
