He was predeceased by: his parents, Selmer Skar and Minnie Skar (Larson); his brothers, Marvin, Orville, Les, Obert, Clifford, Milton and Maynard; his parents-in-law, Levi and Agnes Emmel; and his brother-in-law Dean Emmel.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Emmel; his son Jason Skar (Melanie); and his grandchildren, Sierra Nordloef (Isaac) and Sheldon Skar. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
