She was predeceased by: her parents, Max Thiel and Catherine Thiel (Bauer); her husband Delmer Nelson; her daughter Onamae Richardson; her siblings, Clara Dinwiddie (Walt), Ann Nichols (Herb), Leo Thiel (Ann) and Anton "Tony" Thiel (Hilda); her niece Linda Thiel; and her grandchild Kristen Nelson (Orlan).
She is survived by: her children, Orlan (Diane) of Minot, ND and Lyndon (Becky) of Kenmare, ND; her son-in-law James Richardson of Portland, OR; her nieces and nephews, Bruce Thiel (Suzanne) of Portland, OR, Gayle Thiel, Dan Thiel (Dan), Randy Thiel (Lisa), San Francisco, Skip Nichols (Nancy), Houston, Candy Yarborough (Phil) of Torrance, CA, Judy Erickstad (Nordstog), San Diego and Charles Nordstog of Mandan, ND.; her grandchildren, Reese Richardson, Neal Richardson (Ashley), Keri Larson (Kalvin), Lyndsie Nelson, Halie Dorval (Nelson) and Katie Nelson; and her great grandchildren, Krew, Kayah, Kendri Larson, Emmet and Ellis Dorval.
Living a year there and adjusting to this new foreign lifestyle, then the pandemic hit. She contracted Covid twice and lost her sense of taste and smell, which never returned.
