He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Barnick and Freda Barnick (Spitzer); his wife Thelma; his sister Rosanne Bird; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Bird and Elmer Bakke; and his in-laws, Elmer and Tilda Bakke.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Erickson (Neil) of Brookings, SD, Donna Olson (Mark) of Blue Earth, MN, Douglas Barnick (Barb) of Jud, ND and Joanne Barnick of Jamestown, ND; his grandchildren, Tyler Erickson (Rachel) of Brookings, SD, Tonia Hulst (Matthew) of Denver, CO, Marie Mehlhaf (Matthew) of Menno, SD, Courtney Seiler (Derrick) of Moorhead, MN, Tonie Stoen (Andrew) of Jamestown, ND and Sonni Nagel (Taylor) of Fargo, ND; his great grandchildren, Zadok, Hannah Erickson, Aila, Selah, Bode Hulst, Willow Seiler, Navy and Isaac Nagel; and his sister-in-law Joan Bakke. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
