It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shawn Slaby of Jamestown, North Dakota, born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, who passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Slaby and Betty Ann Slaby (Tennefos); his mother-in-law Velma Trautmann; and his nephews, Brock and Brett Bowerman.
He is survived by: his wife Lanna Trautmann; his daughters, Molly Rachel (Landon) and Abby Slaby; his granddaughters, Seger and Lennie Rachel; his siblings, Danny Hegle (Joey) and Mary Swenson of Detroit Lakes, MN; his father-in-law Art Trautmann; his siblings-in-law, Wes, Cindy Trautmann, Robinson, Bob and LaDonna Bowerman; and his nieces and nephews, Jake Hegle, Josh Hegle (Jody), Jessica Lee (Nick), Jed Swenson (Kelly) of Burnsville, MN, Maggie Swenson (Morgan Nyquist) of Moorhead, MN, Casey Patzner (John), Chase Trautmann, Robinson, Brietta Iverson (Kenn) and Courtney Riskedahl (Bo).
In lieu of flowers, Shawn shared with his family two causes that held meaning to him: Wanting to help others with a cancer diagnosis, the JRMC Cancer Center, To honor his love of sports, particularly baseball, Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation-McElroy Field Renovations (Shawn Slaby Memorial).
