He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, Kathy Wood (Todd) of Bismarck, ND, Brenda Tyre (Harry), Bruce Mathias (Tina), Jamestown Mathias and Bob Mathias (Jenny); his siblings, Ernie Mathias (Carol) of Oakes and Lorna Mathias of Fargo; and his cousins, Don Mathias and Marcella Weight. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
