He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene McPherson and Edna McPherson (Graves); his granddaughter Angie Riffel; and his siblings, Paul McPherson and Patricia McPherson Hoeckle.

He is survived by: his wife Betty of Jamestown, ND; and his children, Mike (Susan), Mitch (Ann), Cyndi McPherson (Ken DeBoer) and Mark (Cheryl). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
