Edith Laning Obituary
We bid farewell to Edith Laning of Jamestown, North Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 22, 2025 at the age of 100. Edith touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Ellingson and Sadie Ellingson (Tomlin); her son-in-law Loren Nelson; her brother Nelson; her grandson Gerard Retzer; and her great grandchildren, Hadley Jo Retzer, Benjamin Laning and Liam Todd McDowell.
She is survived by: her children, Laverne Nelson, Linda Nelson (Scott), Lorette Hoopman (Douglas), Leah Schulz (Glenn), Vernon Laning (Rose) and Virgil Laning; her grandchildren, Jody Nelson, Kay Retzer, Jessen Nelson (Anna), Lane Morris (Steve), Susan Danker (Mark), Carrie Clayton (Greg), Ray Laning (Andy), Derek Laning (Lynnette), Brad Laning (Sara), Christine Uptain (Nick), Michelle Manning (Bob), Alexis Burks (Morgan), Travis Hoopman, Landon McDowell, Mylee McDowell (Ryan) and Jenna Anderson (Alan); and her cousin Audrey Horsager. She is also survived by 28 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wesley United Methodist Church (305 5th Ave, Edgeley, ND 58433).
