He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gumke and Violet Gumke (Block); his former wife Marlene Gumke; his brother Floyd Gumke; his great grandchild Tucker Gumke; his siblings-in-law, Mavis Hample (Paul), George Unverferth, Bob Rudnick, Duane (Florence) and Darrel "Swede" Schuldheisz (Gloria); and his daughter-in-law Patty Gumke.
He is survived by: his wife Irene; his children, Debra Tompkins (Steve), Loren Gumke (Sandra) and Bruce Gumke (Linda Dockter); his grandchildren, Jill Thompson (Jason), Sarah Gienger (Levi), Matthew Gumke (Kalsie), Joseph Gumke, Laura Gumke and Jake Gumke; his sister Bernice Rudnick; his nieces and nephews, Terri Eckroth, Todd Eckroth (Laura), Steve Eckroth (Kathy), Tammy Dockter (Darcy) and Sheila Neuberger (Dallas); and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Gumke, Shirley Unverferth and Linda Olson (Kelly). He is also survived by 16 step grandchildren; and numerous step great-grandchildren.
