He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hanson and Inez Hanson (Kleinheksel); and his brothers, Lyle, Gary, Alvin and Lane.

He is survived by: his son Jeff (Monica); his grandchildren, Gracie, Sophie, Mya, Elena, Paige, Garrett and Mariah; his great grandchildren, Olivia and Aubreanna; his grandchildren, Donald (Maryette), Gene of Edgeley, ND, Kenneth of Aurora, CO, Randy of Watford City, ND and Brian; and his sisters, Mavis Smith of Adrian, ND, Karen Lagodinski (Leon) of Edgeley, ND, Debra Kitchel and Tracy Dale of Jamestown, ND.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
