He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Olson and Ruby Olson (Almen); his son Gene Olson; his sister Echo Bjertness (Ben); and his grandson Kurt Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Olson (Fedje); his sons, Doug Olson (Alyson) of Hoople, ND and Mark Olson (Jill) of Grafton, ND; his daughter-in-law Cindy Olson; his grandchildren, Laura Brudvik (Brett), Jeff Olson (Nicole), Jayme Trenbeath (Brady), Bryan Olson (Hali), Livia, Reese and Elias Olson; and his siblings, Jerry Olson (Nadine) and Joel Olson (Peggy). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
