He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Markel and Cora Markel (Porter); and his wife Wanda Carew. He is survived by: his children, Debra Blair (Roger) of West Fargo, ND and Robbie Markel of Hoople, ND; his grandchildren, Corey Blair, Shawn Blair, Chris Blair (Kara), Cody Blair (Becky), Larissa Lindtwed (Jordan) and Austin Markel (Peyton); his great grandchildren, Sam Blair, Colton, Loella, Xander Blair, Quintin, Rowan, Flynn Blair, Luna and Lola Lindtwed; and his siblings, Shirley Grinager, Albert Markel Jr., Donnie Markel and Ruth Jackson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (3030 Glendale Ave, Hoople, ND 58243). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
