He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence H. Luger and Elizabeth "Betty" Luger (Mossman); and his brother Mike. He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Jim Luger (Debbie), Suzanne Dynneson (Dennis) and Bill Luger (Ana); his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Joseph; his stepgrandchildren, Sonja, Ian and Brandi; his great grandchild Sarissa; and his siblings, Genie, Elaine, Jim and JoAnn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
A Memorial has been established to the West River Regional Medical Center Foundation.
