It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Volk of Hettinger, North Dakota, born in Modesto, California, who passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Anderson and Bertha Anderson (Buer); her husband Jacob Volk; and her brother Larry. She is survived by: her children, Wayne of Hettinger, ND, Darcy Torpen (Larry) of Bowman, ND, Cary Volk (Vicki) of Elko, NV and Cammy Samson (Jeff) of Wasilla, AK; and her grandchildren, Ryan Carroll (Jessica) of Clarksville, TN, Amanda Carroll of West Fargo, ND, Tashel Brunmeier (Brian) of Colestrip, MT, Megan Johnson (Lance) of Bowman, ND, Cody Bright (Janie) of Winnemucca, NV, Tyler Volk of Elko, NV, Kinzi Volk of Boise, ID, Samantha Samson (Jerry), Logan Samson and Eden Samson. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In September of 2020, Joyce was diagnosed with COVID-19.
