He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Clifford, Gayle Smith, Charlie and Marie Russell; his brother Locke; his aunt Jeannette Stephens (Lee); his uncle Bill Russell; and his cousin Lonnie Russell.
He is survived by: his spouse Jessie Green; his children, Kyle and Karly of Hensler; his parents, Vernon Smith and Sally Smith of Hensler; his siblings, Annette Gappert (Bruce) of Hensler, Mack Smith of Hensler and Russell Smith (Robyn) of Washburn; and his nieces and nephews, Kortnie, Kaela, Katelyn, Ashley, Dillon, Lukas and Jimmy. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
