He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Kilber and Amalie Kilber (Lauf); and his siblings, Elmer Kilber (Wilma), Alice Kilber, Elsie Miller, Irene Mohl (Walter), Loren Kilber, Helen Kilber and Martin Kilber, Jr..

He is survived by: his son Kelby; his brothers, Albert (Marguerite) and Robert Kilber; and his sisters-in-law, DeLora Kilber and Ardis Kilber. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
