He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunder Mehus and Judith Mehus (Anderson); his siblings, Dwayne Mehus and Earleen Sander; his siblings-in-law, Margaret Mehus and Doug Morkve; and his granddaughters, Dominica and Ahna Mehus.

He is survived by: his wife Deb; his daughter Julie Mehus (Louie); his granddaughter Annie; his child Dara Berdal; his grandchildren, Hannah and Ben; his son James Mehus (Wendy); his grandchildren, Chantz, Haley, Noah, Tatum, Zoey and Mia; his son Eric Mehus (Mindi); his grandchildren, Braeden Jorgensen (Jana), Dallas Jorgensen and Levi Jorgensen; his sons, Joseph Mehus and Aaron Mehus; his grandchild Brody; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Morkve, Sue Storey (Ed), Steven Sander and Russ Haugen (Becki). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
