He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Balfour and Phyllis Balfour (Steussy). He is survived by: his spouse Marlys Drewlow (Marcie); his children, Marc Balfour (Sara) of Harvey, ND and Michelle Mulholland (Toby) of Glencoe; his brothers, Bruce Balfour (Jackie) of Ramsey, MN, Dave Balfour (Barb) of Detroit Lakes, MN and Jim (Rhonda) of Eveleth, MN; and his grandchildren, Gage Balfour and Finley Mulholland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
