He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Messer and Evelyn Messer (Anderson); his siblings, Marvin, Romaine (Patricia), Rodney (Sandra), Lyle, Connie Messer and Bernice Baker (Boyd); his father-in-law Dale Peckham; and his siblings-in-law, John McCarthy and Carol Messer.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Messer of Barnesville, MN; his sons, Jason Messer (Chris) of Barnesville, MN and Jeremy Messer (Tara); his grandchildren, Meghan, Savannah, Jensen, Madison and Jameson Messer; his siblings, Rallon Messer of Mt Pleasant, IA, Joyce McCarthy of Fargo, ND, Caroline Grage (Philip) and Nita Saxberg (Arden); his mother-in-law Lillian Peckham of Jamestown, ND; and his sister-in-law Berthal Messer of Cooperstown, ND. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
