He was predeceased by: his parents, Sven Nelson and Lillie Nelson (Ericsson); his wife Ramona Emde; his siblings, Ethel Gilbertson (Carl), Vernon (Gladys), Kenneth (Eva), Robert (Lorraine), Paul (Iola), Lloyd (Betty) and Merwin (Betty); his parents-in-law, Fred and Ella Emde; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Emde Jr. (Fritz) and Barbara Loraas.
He is survived by: his sons, Alan (Tracy Enstad), Jeffry and Jeff (Denise Hartshorn); his granddaughters, Erika Nelson (Lauren) and Breana Nelson (Jeff Moos); his great grandchild Berkley; and his brothers-in-law, Harry Emde, Ron Emde (Barbara) and Don Emde (Kathy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
