He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schaper and Katherina Schaper (Stohler); his wife Luella; his siblings, Irene Mittelstadt (Art), Lillian Bergstedt (Martin), Dell Thompson (Bob), Gertie Retzer (Dave), Henry Schaper, Edwin Schaper (Regina), Dave Schaper and Marvin Schaper; his siblings-in-law, Elmer Goetz, Bernie Teske and Della Schaper; his parents-in-law, Leo and Pauline Wolf (Oster); and his sister-in-law Leona (Edwin Weidner).
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Allmendinger (Jim) of Hazen; his grandchildren, Chad, Will (Kayla) and Elizabeth; his daughter Barbara Fridley (Marc) of Taylor; his grandchildren, Marcia and Marcus; his son Tim (Julie) of Grassy Butte; his grandchildren, Nathan (Kelsea), Hailey Christophersen (Rusty), Leighton (Sydni) and Codi; his son Jim (Lynn) of Halliday; his grandchildren, Zanna Kleeman (Karter), Ashley, Skye Harris (Tate) and Logan (Afton); his son Mark (Melanie) of Halliday; his grandchildren, Shannea (Zachary Reeder), Emelie, Sarah, Matthew, Samantha and Isabella; his son Paul Schaper (Tami) of Taylor; his grandchildren, Kaci Hjelle (Jordan) and Dylan (Stevie); his son John Schaper (Teri) of Halliday; his sisters, Mae Teske, Vera Barfield (Bob) and Clara Goetz; his sisters-in-law, Orlene Schaper and Darlene Schaper; and his brother Willie Schaper. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
