He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Sorensen (Chris) and Marguerite Sorensen (Lynch); his parents-in-law, John and Agatha Schettler; his brother Howard (Wayne); his sister-in-law Beth Sorensen; his sister Billie (Faye); his brother-in-law Gary Frafford; his siblings, Joy Burr and Delbert; his sisters-in-law, Katherine Schettler (Kay) and Kathlene Voigt (Kay); and his grandson Shannon Dean Wolf.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Schettler (Jacky); his children, Donald Sorensen Jr., Denise Bohrer (Dennis) and Douglas Sorensen (Merlein); his grandchildren, Heather Gerard (Chris), Tally Kleemann (Cody), Tyrel Sorensen (Erin), Payden Sorensen (Cara) and John Sorensen; his great grandchildren, Seth Wolf, Hatten Kleemann, MaKlain Kleemann, Anistyn Sorensen, Martin Kleemann, Cree Sorensen, Huxley Sorensen, Holte Sorensen, Hayze Sorensen and Remington Sorensen; his brother Daryl Sorensen; and his siblings-in-law, Evan Burr, Carole Treiber (Louis), Marlene Ives (Roger) and Jerry Schettler (Anne). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don's name to the Killdeer High School Rodeo Club.
