He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Leinen and Fern Leinen (Pasch); his wife Margaret Bach; his grandson Mike Fenske; his siblings, Lyle Leinen, Vance Leinen, Marilyn Neubauer (Leo), Dennis Leinen (Janice), Beverly Capshaw (Jim), David Leinen and Rodney Leinen; and his brother-in-law Al Thykeson.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Leinen (Julie) of Fairmount, ND, Richard Leinen (Penny) of Wahpeton, ND, Jeffrey Leinen (Maxine) of Great Bend, ND, Sandra Fenske (Bruce), Patrick Leinen (Teddi), Shelly Manock (Duane Bergemann) of Gwinner, ND, Sharon Watkins (Gary) of Ortonville, MN and Donald Jr. Leinen (Kathy); his siblings, Lois Thykeson and Randy Leinen (Linda); and his sisters-in-law, Eunice Leinen and JoAnn Leinen. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Gerard's Community of Care or the Great Bend Fire Department.
