He was predeceased by: his parents, William Orris and Evelyn Smith (Uggerud); his wife Dolores "Dedi" Bratton; and his siblings, Janice Lenhart, Marilyn Mortrud and William E. Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Janna Smith of Los Angeles, CA and Jared Smith of Grand Forks, ND; and his brother Duane Smith of Hastings, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
