He is survived by: his wife Carol Troftgruben; his children, Eileen James (Doug), Barbara Brandvold (Wayne), Rhonda Griecar (Mark) and Rodney Troftgruben (Cariann); his siblings, Duane Troftgruben (Lorraine), Orlan Troftgruben, Mavis Boura (Jim) and Bonnie Espelien; and his sister-in-law Mayvis Troftgruben. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
