With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Joy Sand of Grand Forks, North Dakota, born in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 21, 2024 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Zimmerman and Thelma Zimmerman (Dunkelberger); her husband Doran Sand; her son Thomas Sand; her granddaughter Jaclyn Sand; and her brother Donald Zimmerman.
She is survived by: her children, Doreen Homuth of Grand Forks, ND, Brian Sand (Rhonda) of Grand Forks, ND, Greg Sand (Mary) of Grand Forks, ND and Barb Murphy (Greg) of Grand Forks, ND; her grandchildren, Lauren Homuth, Lacey Schuler (Jason), Melissa Lennon (Trevor), Sarah Storandt (Michael), Molly Sand Eichten (Tony), Audrey Sand, Zachary Murphy and Jacob Murphy; her sister-in-law Shirley Zimmerman; and her stepgrandson Chad Boese (Alyssa). She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews.
