He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Brooks and Lois Brooks; his son Travis Sorenson; his brothers, Michael and Daniel; his brother-in-law David Koolstra; and his pet Diesel.
He is survived by: his children, Taushia Henkel-Johnson (David), Drew Brooks Jr. and Vincent Brooks; his grandchildren, Pierce, Aaron, Lilly, Gracie, Damien, Zoey, Aiden and Bryton; his siblings, Deborah Koolstra of McBain, MI, Laura Sweet of Rockmart, GA, Lonnie Brooks of Crookston, MN, Daren Brooks (Carol Steinhoff) of Crookston, Dustan Brooks of Kindred, N. D. and Devlyn Brooks (Shelley) of Moorhead, MN.; his sister-in-law Teri Brooks of Sauk Centre, MN; and his cousins, Scott and Ida Bubendorf. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Amundson Funeral Home (2975 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58201). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
