He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Walen and Verna Walen (Hoyt); and his sister Dianna Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Debra Tweed; his son Jeff Walen of Warren, MN; his grandchildren, Cody Bakken and Serena Walen of Courtenay, ND; his parents-in-law, Monroe and Bette Tweed of Tolna, ND; and his sisters-in-law, Marcy Kjelgaard (Bruce) of McHenry, ND and Jill Morken (David) of Pekin, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
