James Schaaf Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Schaaf of Glen Ullin, North Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 24, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Schaaf and Magedelena Schaaf (Messer); and his siblings, Mathew, Michael Jr., John, Cecilia, Elizabeth, Ann, Agnes, Elinor and Orva.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Hunke of Joseph's Catholic Church; his sons, Gregory Schaaf of Mandan and James "Jimmy" Schaaf (Jess) of Glen Ullin; his grandchildren, Jamie Schaaf, Isabella, Aeriel and Olivia; and his sister Jeanine Simon.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (204 W Ash Ave, Glen Ullin, ND 58631). A rosary was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Jim's family suggests donations be made to the Ben Hunke Music Scholarship at the University of Mary in Bismarck.
