He was predeceased by: his parents, Val Gerving and Fern Gerving (Ladd); and his siblings, Bennie Gerving, Ethel Riedinger and Alice Bauer.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Holznagel; his children, Tamara Sundby (Greg) of Brooklyn Center, MN, Glenn Gerving (Lisa) of Glen Ullin, Dean Gerving (Tera) of Mandan and Allan Gerving (Shana) of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Greg Jr. Sundby (Bekah), Moriah Sundby, Isabel Sundby of Theodore James, Jamie Seiler (Mat), Alisha Gerving (Josh), Kendra Gerving (Tresten), Jordan Saylor, Faith Gerving, Hannah Gerving, Ashley Gerving, Ethan Gerving, Ryan Gerving and Owen Gerving; and his great grandchildren, Kayden, Camden, Hudson Saylor, Bristol Seiler, Stefan and Kassian Sundby.
