He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Engel and Emelia Engel (Henne); his son Larry; his sisters, Arlene, Gladys and Linda; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Engel and Gene Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Brolin); his children, Cindy Klimek (Joe), Mark Engel and Cathy Wilson (Brad); his grandchildren, Michelle Warren, David James, Chris (Eric Wilson) and Tony Engel (Dawn Zendejas); his great grandchildren, Haley, Breanna Warren, Lucas, Carter James, Paige, Aria, Tucker Wilson, RJ Engel and Daizey Inselmann; and his siblings, Jim Engel and Gloria Patterson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be sent to the First Congregational Church at Box 186, Garrison, ND 58540.
