He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Sr. Giffey and Marvel Giffey (Larson); his stepmother Signe Deardurff Giffey; his grandson Curtis Giffey; and his siblings, Donald Giffey (Avis) and Dorothy Giffey.
He is survived by: his children, Kyle Giffey (Sandy), Kandis Horn (Tracy), Kelly Giffey (Colette) and Kari Evenson (Jerry); and his brother-in-law Jack Geving (Phyllis). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 ½ great grandchildren.
