He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Holtan and Nettie Iverson (Holtan); and his stepfather Howard Iverson. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Igoe (Tolly); his daughter Kelly Sorge (Dale) of Garrison, ND; his grandson John Holtan (Kara) of Cottage Grove, MN.; his stepson James Scott Slocum (Tolly); his brother Donald Holtan; his stepchildren, Tarryl Gabel (Cameron) of Poughkeepsie, NY. and Dawn Primeaux (Robert) of Garrison, ND.; his son John Holtan (Kara); his brothers, Arlin Holtan (Naomi) of Surprise, AZ. and Carlyle (Vicki); his sister-in-law Kathy Holtan; and his sister Sheryl Krueger.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be used to build a permanent observation telescope/lookout above Lake Sakakawea/Missouri River.
