He was predeceased by: his parents, Balzar Kleingartner and Olga Kleingartner (Schlenker); his wife Karen; and his brothers, Gordon, Rupert, Irvin and Norbert.
He is survived by: his children, John Kleingartner (Ruth) of Gackle, ND, Sheri Kleingartner of Gackle, ND and Melissa Bergquist of Anoka, MN.; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Adam Presler (Taylor), Dauson, Jessie Kleingartner and Evelyn Bergquist; his great grandchild Lana; his brother Albin; his half-siblings, Melvin 'Pete', Edwin, Helen and Lillian; and his foster brother Rueben Kinzler.
