It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Galen Abraham GreyBear of Fort Totten, North Dakota, who passed away on May 17, 2023, at the age of 30, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Melvin GreyBear Sr., William Cavanaugh (Billy Bones) and Bernice Juarez; his aunts and uncles, Collette GreyBear, Jewel GreyBear, Leon Cavanaugh and William Cavanaugh (Billy Boy); his great-grandparents, Frank, Sylvia Cavanaugh, William Longie and Jeannette Goodhouse; his cousins, Gladys Cavanaugh, Christopher Cavanaugh, Julian DeMarce and Samual DeMarce; and his grandparents, Richard Longie Sr., Fred Longie Sr., George Longie Sr., Tim Longie Sr., Willy Longie, Lil Dave Longie, Evangeline White and Maggie Moxness.
He is survived by: his parents, Isabel Cavanaugh LeftBear (Clarence) and Loren GreyBear Sr.; his sons, Thomas Nestell and Lucas GreyBear; his close friend Leigh Nestell; his siblings, Lorenda GreyBear, Danica GreyBear, Loren GreyBear Jr. (Lucy), Dedrick GreyBear and Lyle GreyBear; his aunts, Annabel DeMarce and Guadelupe Crawford (Darnell); his uncle Jesse Cavanaugh (Angela); his nieces and nephews, Aaliyah Kameron, Kasey Jewel, Samuel, Kenyon, Jayden and Tylin; his uncles, Paul Henry Cavanaugh, Myron GreyBear, Melvin GreyBear Jr., Bentley GreyBear Sr. and Everette Comer; and his grandmothers, Loraine GreyBear, Genevieve Liberty, Yvonne Longie and Myrna Greene.
