The memory of Joyce Ann Olson of Fort Ransom, North Dakota, who passed away on October 31, 2024 at the age of 89, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hector Tommeraus and Verna Tommeraus (Larson); her husband Paul Olson; her son Ronald Olson; her granddaughter Jenny Olson Ekvall; her brother Donald Tommeraus (Arla); her brothers-in-law, Curt Hanson and Richard Olson (Donna); and her niece Heather Olson.
She is survived by: her children, Russell Olson (Colleen), Robert Olson (Teresa) and Rita Olson; her daughter-in-law Lelony Olson; her grandchildren, Alayna Brudevold (Jeremy), Tim Ekvall, Josh Olson, Stacey Ryan (Casey), Rachel Olson (Robert Storbeck), Brandon Olson, Nichols Olson (Karlie Toy), Calli Jacobson (Lucas) and Danielle Olson (Taylor Sargent); her great grandchildren, Corbin, Arya, Leighton, Blayke, Axel, Kendall, Hayes and Lennon; her sisters, Shirley Hanson of Lisbon, ND and Lillian Kopperud (Bob) of Fargo, ND; and her siblings-in-law, Mickey Granlund (Curtis) of Battlement Mesa, CO and David. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Standing Rock Lutheran Church (136 Mill Rd, Fort Ransom, ND 58033). A prayer was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at the Standing Rock Lutheran Cemetery (136 Mill Rd, Fort Ransom, ND 58033).
She praised local young families for their involvement in keeping the town vibrant and enjoyed donating Christmas Bears to the yearly holiday party.
