He is survived by: his brother-in-law Ruth Pueppke; his wife Sam; his daughters, Lydia R. Gessele of Chaseley and Marjorie Kleinsasser of Fessenden; his grandchildren, Michaela Gessele, Cheyenne Gessele and Samuel Gessele; his stepgrandchildren, Taylin Gessele (Natalie) and Sebastian Gessele; his brother Eli Kleinsasser (Nancy) of Milwaukee, OR; his siblings-in-law, Glenn Pueppke of Erie, ND and Norma Kleinsasser of Tuttle; and also, Glenn Pueppke and Pastor Adey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
