He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Clarens and Elizabeth "Bessie" Clarens (Overn); his wife Leone Metcalf; his stepsister Joan Murray; his sister-in-law Audrey Murray; and his granddaughter Rachel Clarens Farnsworth.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Clarens (Ruth) of Fargo, ND, Mary Lee Clarens (Cindy Roholt) of Fargo, ND and Diann Hoedl (Lee) of Fargo, ND; his stepbrothers, Jim Murray of Pueblo, CO and Justin Murray (Jan) of Rochester, MN; his grandchildren, Christine Uggerud (Eric), Jim Farnsworth (Kristi), Johanna Clarens, Andrea Dwyer (Sam), Laura Jordahl (Bret), Leo Hoedl, Emily Hoedl, Hannah Hoedl and Nicholas Hoedl; and his great grandchildren, Josiah, Lydia, Anna, Timothy, Samuel Uggerud, Alina, Nathaniel, Naomi, Clara Farnsworth, Andrew, Leah Dwyer and Sarah Jordahl.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation be made to a veteran's charity of your choosing.
