He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole L. Olson and Viola G. Olson (Odegard); his parents-in-law, Charles and Martha Hewitt; and his nephew Christopher Sorenson.
He is survived by: his son Trygg Karlton of Carrington, ND; his wife Diane Hewitt; his children, Lionel Olson (Carolyn) of Grand Forks, ND and Nicole Byerley (James) of Hazen, ND; his grandchildren, Eva Byerley (Sam Wagner), Olivia Byerley (Daniel Young), Garrett Byerley, Levi Olson and McKenzie Olson; his siblings, Gwendolyn Sorenson (Robert) of Bettendorf, IA, Roland Olson (Mattie) of Winchester, VA and Jonathan Olson (Linda) of Grand Forks, ND; and his brother-in-law Charles Hewitt (Jackye) of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
