She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Hjelmstad and Gladys Geneva Hjelmstad; her husband Lynn Brown; and her brother Jerold Hjelmstad. She is survived by: her sisters, Joyola Olson of Lakeville, MN and JoEllen Thacker (Mike) of Fergus Falls, MN; her sister-in-law Yolonda Hjelmstad of San Antonio, TX; her nephew Kevin Westby (Gina) of Hampton, VA; her niece Kristin Biloki (Marvin Cooper) of Flower Mound, TX; her grandchildren, Katy Gautier, Eric Westby, Kayleigh Pendleton (John), Riley Biloki (Caleigh Differding), Emily Biloki and Brandon Westby; and also, Karma Krause (Joel), Perry Brown (Lisa), Lan Brown (Sarah) and Anthony (Rebecca). She is also survived by great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her last job was as the Financial Director at Red River Human Services Foundation, Fargo ND, from which she retired in 2005.
