He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother P. M. Paulsen; his wife Margo Brunskill; his son Jim; his daughter-in-law Kim; his children, Jean and John Miller Paulsen; his granddaughter Hannah (Tom Cunningham); his great grandchildren, Margo, Henry and Jimmy; and his grandson John Wilson Paulsen.

Memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church of Fargo and NDSU Development Foundation.
