He was predeceased by: his mother Mable Fugitt; his stepfather Glen Fugitt; his siblings, Bill, Ken, Jessie Ruth and Virginia; his daughter Peggy Ownby Irwin (Peggy); and his grandson Stephen Hershberger.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Ownby (Cathy); his daughters, Cindy Hershberger (Jay) of Hitterdal, MN and Sarah Holston (Doug) of Moorhead, MN; his sister Kathryn Winn (Fred) of Las Cruces, NM; his grandchildren, James Irwin, Kimberly Irwin, Valerie Vigil, Brett Hershberger, Jillian Jirik, Julie Hershberger, Catherine Falconnier, Alicia Ringsaker, Timothy Falconnier, Emily Holston, Abigail Holston, Jack Holston, Margaret Holston and Joseph Holston; and his great grandchildren, Natalie Day, Isabel Day, Elias Anderson, Lyam Nelson, Reagan Ringsaker, Juniper Falconnier and Maria Hershberger.
Everett Dale Ownby was born on April 6, 1934, in Buffalo, Missouri, the third of five children, and went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025, at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, Minnesota after a 7-year battle with Alzheimer's.
