He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Wendell and Elaine Hanson (Summer); and his siblings-in-law, Gil Hanson, Darrold Schall and Candi Hanson (Jerry Johnson).

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Hanson; his daughters, Shelly Axtman of Fargo, ND and Cheri Jerger (Stu) of Moorhead, MN; his granddaughters, Paige Elaine Jerger and Maddy Lorraine Jerger; his sister Cindy (Margie) Schall; and his brother-in-law Verlin Hanson of Acton, CA.
