He was predeceased by: his parents, Theresa Bernard (Schmit) and Mathias J. Bernard; his brother Kenneth Bernard; his nephew Kenneth Bernard, Jr.; and his niece Andrea Bernard. He is also survived by his nephew and numerous cousins and godchildren.
