Vernon John Igard Obituary

Vernon John Igard, 80, Dickinson, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health Center, Dickinson. Vern's funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Rev. James Hessler officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Vernon was born January 29, 1937 in Richardton, son of John and Ella (Swenning) Igard. He was raised and educated near Regent while helping on the family farm. He graduated from Model High in Dickinson. He married Marlene Massad and to this union there were five daughters. He was then married to Linda Weflen and two sons were brought into this union.

Vern managed M & H Gas Station for a period of time. He then began a career in trucking and delivery of which he retired from. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, barbecues, going camping and being in the outdoors. Vern is survived by his children, Michelle Ehresman, Dickinson, Linda Sticka, Dickinson, Jodi Igard, Valley Village, Calif., Leslie Massad, Cheyenne, Wyo., Matthew (Amanda Vaagen) Igard, and Dave Broeckel, Belfield; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evon Praus, Dickinson and Bertha (Oscar) Klein, Mott; special friends, Bob Gengler, Larry Qualm, Darla Messer; and his dogs, Frenchie and Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marsha; granddaughter, Sierra Sticka; and sister, Martha Monke.
