He was predeceased by: his wife Luella Fichter (Klemm); his parent Margaret Fichter (Roll); and his siblings, Joe Fichter (Frances), Paul Fichter, Alex Fichter (Beatrice), Agnes Kersich, Izzy Messmer (George) and Mary Catherine Fichter.
He is survived by: his children, Alvin Fichter and Gloria Fichter-Rau (Wayne); his grandson Damon Fichter of Nashville, TN; his sister Josie Heinert; and his close friend Kenny Heidt. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren through his daughter.
