It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vivian B. Smith of Devils Lake, North Dakota, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard J. Buckingham and Matie Belle Buckingham (Rice); her husband Robert G. Smith; her children, Stephanie Lee Kersten, Steve Smith, Scott Smith and Tom Smith; and her siblings, Violet Anderson, Ken Buckingham, Wallace Buckingham, Vince Buckingham, Dorothy Hall, Darwin Buckingham and Lorna McCabe.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Mitzel (Ned) of Devils Lake, ND, Lynn Magney (Richard) of Spokane, WA, Kevin Smith (Val) of Devils Lake, ND and Mary Engstrom (David) of Woodland, WA; her children-in-law, Marie Smith and Jerry Kersten; her grandchildren, Ryan, Susan, Sarah, Jonathan, Keri, Beau, Tadd, Tyson, Allison, Shawn, Michelle, Christopher, Nathan, Lisa, Amanda, Ashley, Kimberly and Shane; her sister Matie Kraut; her sisters-in-law, Sara Buckingham and Ida Mae Buckingham; and also Robert (family: Karen, Stephanie Lee, Lynn, Steve, Scott, Tom, Kevin, Mary). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
