He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Melinda Thompson (James) and William Henry Herald; his grandparents, Agnes, James Littleghost, Sarah and Emil Herald; his siblings, Celestine Herald, Patsy Herald, Jeanette Herald, Trudy Theresa Brown, Marjorie Kirk, Roxanne Herald, April Herald, Darren Herald and Daniel Herald Sr.; and his adoptive daughter Leah Herald.
He is survived by: his children, Virgil Jr., Tyrone and Twila Herald; and his siblings, Vincent Herald, Donovan Kahnapace, Willis Herald, Delbert Herald, James "Jumbo" Thompson II and Ronda McKay. He is also survived by grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many family and friends.
