He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred and Katie; his siblings, Edward and Betty; and his nephews, Kirby and Kent Cruse.
He is survived by: his friend Lloyd Bird; his former wife Nelda Christianson (Joan); his brother Neil Cruse of Houston, TX; his children, Deborah Zimmerman (Kyle) of Fargo, Vickie Heit, Kevin Cruse of Devils Lake and Scott Cruse (Gail) of Devils Lake; his grandchildren, Roberta Green (Isaac), Robert Zimmerman (Stacy), Jason Gette (Amanda), Jorey Heit, Jessica Cruse, Tawny Dahlen and Jamie Spidahl; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Carson, Piper Gette, Tanner Cruse, Teagan, Ava Zimmerman, Aubrey and Avery Dahlen.
