He was predeceased by: his parents, William Deckert and Lena Deckert (Ensz); his parents-in-law, Art Deckert (Ethel), George Deckert (Ann), Lillian Buller (Dave), Elma Hinkel (Ray), Henry Deckert (Doris Jean), Bernard Deckert (Ruth) and Burnette Teske (John); his in-laws, Heinrich and Maria Hiebert; and his friend Dale Nitzche.
He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Jeffrey Deckert (Theresa), Desiree Schmidt (Fred), Justin Deckert (Carrie), Jason Deckert (Paula) and DoRae Wulbecker (Jeremy); and his grandchildren, Jonathan Deckert (Andrea), Larisa Netterlund (Eric), Jared Deckert (Emily), Joseph Deckert (Neva), Tyler Schmidt (Renae), Trevor Schmidt (Kristen), Danica Suarez (Adrian), Kyle Schmidt (Janna), Jaden (Kelsey), Paige (Alex), Jaxon Deckert, Darica, Jacen, Ellie Deckert, Marcus, Josiah, Maria and Eben Wulbecker. He is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many other cherished family members and friends.
